Account opening
Onboarding, eligibility and required documents.
You can apply online by clicking "Open Account" on the Benker website and following the onboarding steps. The application is submitted online. Benker may request additional information or documents before the account can be approved.
In most cases, the onboarding process is completed online. If additional documents are required, Benker will let you know during the review process or through your account manager/support channel.
Benker provides private multi-currency accounts and business multi-currency accounts. Eligibility depends on your country of residence/incorporation, business activity, documents provided, and Benker's compliance review.
The expected timeline depends on the type of account and the complexity of the review. Private accounts may take up to several working days, while corporate accounts or complex structures may take longer. Additional questions or missing documents can extend the timeline.
The required documents normally include identity verification and information needed for compliance checks. Benker may ask for additional documents depending on your profile, country, and expected account activity.
For business accounts, Benker will normally need company documents, information about directors and beneficial owners, and details about your business activity, expected volumes, and source of funds. Additional documents may be requested during compliance review.
You may start the application, but the account can only be approved after Benker receives and verifies the required information and documents.
Benker is a regulated financial institution and must perform KYC, AML, sanctions, and transaction-risk checks. These questions help us understand your profile and protect clients and the payment ecosystem.
No. Benker applies geographic restrictions and compliance criteria. If your country of residence, company registration, or payment destination is restricted, Benker may not be able to onboard you or process certain payments.
Benker maintains a list of restricted countries for account opening and a separate list of restricted payment destinations. Please check the current FAQ or contact support with your country of residence, company jurisdiction, and payment corridor so we can confirm.
Benker may support companies from the EU and other countries, but onboarding is always subject to eligibility, product availability, and compliance review. Please share the company country, business activity, website, expected volumes, and main payment corridors.
Benker reviews each business case individually. Some business models, countries, products, or payment corridors may require enhanced due diligence or may not be supported. Please provide details so the team can assess the case.
IBAN & account details
Dedicated IBANs, local account details and currencies.
Benker provides dedicated/local IBAN account details where available, so clients can receive payments through bank transfer without opening multiple accounts in different countries. Availability may depend on the account type, jurisdiction, and compliance approval.
Where dedicated IBAN account details are provided, they are intended to be associated with the relevant client account. For business accounts, this is typically the company account. Final account details are confirmed after onboarding.
For business clients, the correct term is a dedicated business IBAN or local account details, not a "personal IBAN". Benker can provide account details for eligible business accounts, subject to product availability and compliance approval.
Benker's platform is designed to help clients receive and manage payments through local account details and multi-currency services. Availability of specific currencies may vary. Please check the current product page or ask support to confirm your required currencies.
Currency availability depends on product status and account type. EUR is the primary currency shown for SEPA payments, and some additional currencies may be marked as coming soon or subject to availability. Please tell us which currency you need and we will confirm.
Please contact support with the currency and payment corridor you need. Some currencies may be available only for selected clients, while others may be planned or not yet fully available.
Funding & incoming
Adding funds and receiving payments.
You can fund your Benker account by receiving a bank transfer from another Benker account or from an external bank/payment account, subject to normal payment processing and compliance checks.
Third-party incoming transfers may be accepted where they match your account profile and pass compliance checks. Benker may request additional information about the payer, the purpose of the payment, the invoice, the contract, or the source of funds.
Yes, Benker is designed for business payments, including receiving payments from clients and commercial partners. Payments must match your declared business activity and may be subject to compliance checks.
The payment reference should clearly describe the purpose of the payment, for example invoice number, contract number, or service description. This helps avoid delays during payment screening.
Incoming payment timing depends on the payment method, sending bank, cut-off times, weekends/holidays, and compliance checks. Please provide the payer name, amount, currency, payment date, and payment confirmation so support can investigate.
Outgoing payments
Payment rails, limits, rejections and exports.
Yes, where supported, you can send payments to external bank accounts. The recipient does not need to have a Benker account. Processing depends on payment type, destination, limits, and compliance checks.
Benker supports domestic and international payment services where available. Please check your account/payment screen or contact support with the destination country, currency, and amount to confirm availability.
Benker supports SEPA payments, and SEPA Instant may be available depending on account type, receiving bank, product availability, and current limits. Please check your payment options in the platform.
Standard SEPA transfers usually depend on banking days and cut-off times. SEPA Instant, where available, is designed for faster processing, but may still be affected by recipient-bank availability, limits, and checks.
A payment may be pending because it is being processed, waiting for bank clearing, outside working hours, or undergoing compliance/security review. If it remains pending longer than expected, please provide the payment details so support can check.
Payments can be rejected or refunded for several reasons, including incorrect beneficiary details, unsupported destination, account limits, sanctions/PEP screening, or other compliance reasons. Support can review the case, but some compliance details may not be disclosed.
Please contact support immediately. Whether a payment can be cancelled depends on its status and the payment rail. Once a payment has been executed or received by the beneficiary bank, cancellation may not be possible.
Contact support immediately and provide the payment date, amount, currency, beneficiary name, IBAN/account number, and reference. The team will advise whether the payment can be stopped, amended, recalled, or must be returned by the recipient bank.
Payment limits depend on your account type, risk profile, payment method, and internal approval. Some limits may be visible in your account. If you need higher limits, please contact support and explain the business reason and expected volumes.
Benker's business account features may include bulk transaction import. Please check whether the feature is available in your account or contact support for setup assistance.
Business account tools may include CSV/PDF export and statement/reporting features. Please check the relevant section in the web portal or contact support if you cannot find the export option.
Fees
Tariffs, payment costs and account fees.
You can find current tariffs in the Fees section of the Benker website. Fees may differ for private and business clients and may change over time, so the current online tariff file should always be treated as the source of truth.
The outgoing payment fee depends on whether you are a private or business client, your plan, payment type, and currency/corridor. Please check the current Fees section or tell us your account type and payment type so we can point you to the correct tariff.
Incoming payment fees depend on your account type, plan, and payment rail. Please check the current Fees section or share whether your account is private or business so we can guide you to the correct tariff.
Monthly maintenance depends on your account type and plan. Private and business tariffs are different. Please check the Fees section for the current tariff applicable to your account.
Currency exchange fees depend on the account type, plan, currency pair, and current tariff. Please check the Fees section or ask support to confirm the applicable fee before you exchange.
Account closure fees depend on the tariff applicable to your account. In some cases, administrative fees may apply, including if the client does not transfer the remaining funds or close the account within a deadline specified by Benker.
An inactive account administration fee may apply if there have been no client-initiated transactions for the period defined in the tariff and after Benker's notice. Please check the current Fees section for the exact conditions and amount.
Yes. Benker may update tariffs from time to time. Current fees and tariff changes are published on the Benker website, and the online fee document should be checked before making decisions.
